I pulled a few supers yesterday and found that the honey was very dark, almost black. Tastes good though. Any ideas as to what type of honey it is? I am in Eastern Ky. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
CM

Is there any buckwheat being grown in your area?

Carbide,
No there is no buckwheat grown in my area. Some local Beeks said it could be black locust, apples or blackberries. We have plenty of each. What do you think?
Thanks for your help.

The above link has a nice long list of varietals and their colors...maybe it will help narrow down your search.
