Talked to Walt Wright this morning. It reminded me how much Walt has changed my thinking and actions when it comes to bees. I urge anyone who hasn't purchased Walt's publication to contact him through this web site and do so. Besides teaching me how to manage the bees in a gentle manner that guarantees they will not swarm, not to mention doubling my honey yield, he has taught me to respect the bees and honor their way of doing things. Before I met Walt, my manipulation of the bees was rough, moving frames and boxes with abandon, exposing the bees to the open for too long of time, no wonder they let me know of their displeasure. Walt is at it again, designing a new frame that will give the bees the option to manage their brood nest as if they were in a bee tree.Stay tuned. Respect, that is the key, no one owns the bees, they have no loyalty or debt to pay me. I am only grateful to be a part of their world.

If I may ask, what did you and Walt talk about? I talked with him about a year or so ago. He is a great person. I would love to go and see him.

We talked about our very cool weather and how it has effected the build up. We talked about the frames Walt is inventing with a material he will use to fill the gap between frames that can be easily separated. I voiced my scepticism about the ease of separating the frames. I asked him to make me some metal frames that are as long as a deep plus a super so the bees can manage the brood nest as they would in a bee tree.
