I have read a bit about sunflowers on this board, but am still left with a few lingering questions.

1. Is there a particular (named?) variety that produces more nectar for the bees?

2. Have read that seeds are often treated with chemicals to aid in storage. Does anyone know if there are "Organic" or "All Natural" sources where I can buy some seed that has not been treated?

The black oil sunflower seeds sold for bird seed work just fine. Try WM or Tractor Supply.
