I have not posted for some time but I need some help. I have been beekeeping for three seasons now. I'm up to seven hives in my backyard. Two are first yr Nucs, one is very weak, two are building up nicely though not as quickly as I would like, and two are booming.. I mean really loaded with bees. I was into both hives in the past several days. I added a third super to one of them the other will need another soon. First super on both of these is nearly all capped and ready for harvest. I plan to do that in the next day or two. Looking forward to finally getting some substantial quantities of Honey !!!
My sons and I have a vege garden behind the hives.. like about 4 ft behind them.
We have been out there cultivating, etc. Last night my son was stung right on his eyelid as he worked behind the hives in the garden about 8 feet from the rear of the hives. this has not happened before. Tonight as I was installing some tomatoe cages, i was stung in the ear..came out of nowhere but from which hive ??? no idea but it is obviously a hot one.
How do I figure out which one is the hot one? I have read that I should re queen a hot hive. Should be fun looking for her in that hive. H E L P !!! Wife is getting involved and that is trouble... " Can't you move those hives? Trying to deal with this before the neighbors are affected. Advice??
