Honeybee Balls In My Lettuce

I just went down to my garden to find 2 balls of about 50 honeybees on 2 heads of lettuce. I think my hive 1 swarmed or is ready to. I put a medium nuc next to the bee balls and they moved onto the landing board:confused: and started fanning.

if they start fanning they almost certainly have a queen. most likely an afterswarm with a virgin. good luck,mike
