Man that can't be good. When I get stung, I never swell up like that.

Was that sting form a honeybee or a bushwhacking Hornet?

Allfloridabeeremoval...... That was a good one..... :D :D :D
Yeah it is bad, but we couldnt scrape the stinger out and I think it got squeezed, so I got a full dose.
Guess I need to get stung more to build up an immune.... :p
I think all the wind blew a Southern Mean Bee up here cuz I know my girls are sweet as can bee......

When I started beekeeping I would have swelling and itching at the site of the sting. Now after a few minutes I can’t tell where the sting was.

Ya, I'm about the same way. Each year my first sting is the size of a silver dollar. Any stings after that, I get a red spot the size of a dime. Then it goes away in a few hours, a day a the most. Even yesterday's sting in the center of my palm that felt like a knife has gone away.

Got my first sting on my right middle finger. Was replacing the 1 gal. can feeder and put my hand right on 3 of them . Only one got me, all my fault should have been more careful. Finger swelled and the top of my hand , lasted two days but almost gone now !! Again all my fault.

"Maybe bin ba bay bor two..." :D

Sorry, I dont' swell anymore. I'm actually really happy, I had a tiny bit of swelling from my first sting this year, and not a bit of swelling on any of my stings the remainder of this year.

I got stung yesterday on the same finger, same hand. My finger caught a bee on the frame while readjusting my grip. It has swollen pretty badly from the tip to the knuckle and turned purple at the sting site and you can visibly see it throbbing.

I was hoping to do some painting today- does anyone know if you can lance the area and drain the fluid?

How long does it usually take to build up some immunity?

Hey thats how I feel after getting a filling! Can't say that it ever looked like that though...

Thankfully, after 5 years and maybe 30 stings I'm finally over the swelling!:) Still hurts like fire at first, though...

Please dont cut your finger , just take benadryl. Mine only lasted a couple of days.Cortisone cream would also help.

Swelling is going down now, but BoyHowdy it got even worse last night, then my cheeck swelled and looked like I had a big ole chaw in...... But almost back to norm now. Told my girl I just needed to get stung more to build up an immune to it, LOL, she didnt think that was wise till I showed her some articals about it......
Oh well, its all good........

I got it twice yesterday (apparently 90+ degree weather makes them cranky). The initial sting hurt, but that went away fairly quickly, but today, the spots are so itchy I can't stand it. Just took some benedryl, hope that helps.

BTW, can we bottle this stuff and call it beetox? Whatever is in their venom can't be any worse than botulism!!
