i have some shallow boxes that i would like to use for supers.the frames are wooden with double horizontal wires, the wax that was previously in them got swiped by my wife for xmas candles(when i thought i would use all deeps).there are traces of the old wax around the frame edges and i did find one wax frame to put in each box(as a guide?).is it likely that the bees will draw it out the way i want them to,or do i need starter strips,or to cut the top bars into wedges?thanks

They should be fine, but keep an eye on it as they draw it.

The traces of old wax (assuming you can see the outline of the cells) will usually do. But as mentioned, I'd keep an eye on them. If they start off straight they will probably continue.

Use the wax that you have found to make starter strips for the frames.

melt the candles and make starter strips out of the wax:D In reality they should be fine

the best part was when the candles didnt even work.they were in jars with limp wicks and would just go out as soon as they melted a little wax.oh yeah and my wife is hindu.i think she ended up melting it back down for lip balm.
