I wonder if we could somehow get the same sweetheart deal for non-production(declining fish populations and habitat) as the salmon fishers are getting?

Can you believe it?? The salmon fishers got a hell of a deal. They can pick the best year in the last 5, and get full subsidy of that income because there's no escapement. What about all the lip service given to the beekeeping industry. Hearings on Capitol Hill. Deep concern in the media. "How'r we ever going to keep our bees alive and our beekeepers in business. Something must be done!"
What a bunch of crap. What a bunch of lying, shallow, two faced politicians. I testified at the Vermont state house about the problems we're having. They asked what they could do for us. I held out my hand, palm up. We all had a good laugh.
Now, they're giving Salmon industry a huge subsidy...because there aren't enough Salmon. And that placed into the farm bill as an earmark. Where'd they stick our earmark?? Yep, right up there!
