I moved my bees yesterday morning. I did the branch and grass in the entrance trick as I was only moving them a mile away. I checked them later in the day and there seemed to be quite a bit of activity. They seemed to be re-orienting. Then even later in the day they were bringing in pollen. I checked the old site and there were some, but not too many bees. About half were drones. I checked in on them this morning at around 8:30 and there were only one or two bees up and about. There is no sun on them yet, but in the old location, the sun didn't hit them until quite late yet they were active by now. I have not looked inside the hive, only tipped the lid slightly for a peek. I couldn't see much, although there did seem to be bees in there. I also checked the old site this morning and there were no bees at all, which is good. What does anyone think? I'll check them periodically to see if they get more active during the day. Is this normal? Are they sleeping in from the stress of the move?
