I hived 2 packages a week ago. One of them is building slowly but surely towards the entrance end of the tbh.
The other is building more near the middle. I had given them some honey comb from my previous hive, and that's what they are building next to. This second hive is building more vigorously than the other. Should I move them closer to the entrance? Leave them alone and trust they know what they're doing?

The latter, IMO. Unless you know better than the bees what is good for them. :)

My hive - building from the middle out, my buddy's is building from the front back.

Both hives have comb on the floor of the hive, what looks to be about 4" in diameter.

I don't think it matters too much...

Bees don't read the books. They do what they want. I'd let them.
