Today was sunny and in the mid to high 40's. All three hives were very active and were bringing in pollen like crazy - probably skunk cabbage since nothing else seems to be out. Some of the bees had so much pollen they were bright yellow from head to toe.
Better yet my 8 year old son came out with me to look at the hives and was interested in what was going on. He liked the fact that the females do all the work and the males get to fly around. I did not have the heart to tell him what happens to the males in the fall.
