Hi all, we're looking for new beeplants. Our attention goes to the following plants : Garrya elliptica and Fothergilla major, both American plants. Does anyone have any experience with them as beeplant ?
Thanks, marc

I have no experience with them nor have heard of them. Here is a list of good plants. Try some of these out if you can.

I have lots of Fothergilla around here. It's a great shrub for the landscape, but I've never seen any honeybee's on it. The Garrya or Silk Tassel Tree is a west coast native, therefore I have no experience with it.

A nice N. American native shrub that they do like is Clethra alnifolia or Summersweet.

Thanks for the answers, link and suggestion. A friend of mine has a summersweet tree (Clethra arborea) and bees buzzing all around.
