Hi Guys,

Does anyone have or could measure the initial broodnest cell size bees build when attaching natural comb to a top bar? That's the spacing on the first row of cells visible when comb is cut off a top bar leaving the initial impression. It varies somewhat. But a few measurement detailing maximums, minimums would provide a wider basis for making horizontal foundation:

Intact comb could be measured as well. Just measure across 10 cells and record the measurement. Or measure more. Count the number of cells and divide, then multiply by 10. Metrics works best.

Thanks.
