I just can't resist passing a tree, flower or weed that is in bloom and pinching a catkin, head or entire flower so I can see the definition of the pollen grains.

I have placed three shots of pollen from the Willow tree Salix caprea and if you carefully look at the shots you will see different shapes and sizes.
The pollen grains are c.10um extremely small by pollen standards.

I have tried to show the grains at different focal lengths, and with different lighting as this helps with pollen definition.

Looking forward to your comments.
