Barry
I check the forums a couple times a day for discussions about bees
I hit the "New Post" link to see what's going on
is there a way to opt out of a forum I'm not interested in?
the stuff in tailgater is of no interest to me and I'd just as soon not be bothered with it
is this possible?
thanks for a wonderful resource

I couldn't find anything that would let you do this, but maybe Barry can:). I could see how that would be useful:).

there may be features of this forum that Barry doesn't have "turned on"
that seems like a pretty reasonable thing to be able to do
one can only hope:rolleyes:

You mean like not getting HBO on your cable?
If your not interested in Tailgatter just ignore it. Don't go there. But you do have the choice. Do you wish to opt out of Mead Making or other threads too?
Just curious.

no, I wish to opt out of things that hold no interest for me
by the way, I don't subscribe to HBO:)
I don't want to "ignore it"
I want it to "go away"

Just on your computer or for all of the rest of us too?

I'd love to opt out of the Tailgater, Mead making and all the other non-beekeeping ones...

I had to rewrite this
I misunderstood Marks comment and was giving him a hard time
Sorry Mark:rolleyes:
no, I'm not talking about for all users
I'm talking about on a per user basis
it's just stuff I don't want to read
we're logged in, the server knows who we are
it can tailor what we see to who we are
I don't want to see "tailgater" when I click the "new posts" link
BTW. I got a sweet swarm out of a bush today 4 feet off the ground:)

The "Ignore" button works well for those obnoxious posters, perhaps it can ignore forums too?
(Iddee, use the Force, (ignore), it will make you feel better)
I wish some topics in the Trashgater would go away, (Religious and Political), but occasionally there are non-bee related subjects of interest that are useful in our lives.
Other than the Trash section, I haven't found any part of Bee Source 'non-bee related'.

I have used it, but most times I just laugh at the foolishness of some who think living in poverty and being downtrodden is having only a black and white tv and having to buy groceries rather than eating out every meal.
Some give me info, others give me belly laughs. What more could you want?

How about a button in the top right corner that looks like a donut? :D

I once bought a allis chambers cab at a tractor auction.this old codger strolled over and asked what was I going to put it on..a 4020 john deere I proudly told him..he made a frown that looked like a baboon eating green persimmions and told me why you cant do that..Man I got fire engine hot..I quickly told him that if we can send a man to the moon(which i'm doubting now after watching the show about it on tv..) and bring him back home then I can put a AC cab on a JD.. Not long ago my wife wanted me to reach a bowl for her out of the cabinet..I just cant reach it she said...What if I gave you 10K dollars to hand it to me I said..could you reach it then??? the point here is..with enough time and or money there could easily be a op out button on here..;) it may not be worth it but there could be one..

Could be there is a pill that could be taken for the obsessive compulsory need to poke on something one doesn't want to look at also. ;)
