I saw some drones today in two of my hives, and capped drone cells in most of the other hives. If we don't have a late freeze, they will go gangbusters soon.

We're getting a good brood build-up and drones here in Lancaster. Now if we can avoid a late freeze like last year we might make a little honey. Here's hoping.

I saw eggs laid in natural drone comb & sealed drone brood.
It's time to put in the Pierco green drone comb for early queens.
I fed four scoops, the scoop is a # 10, of pollen patties to the drone mothers as we are supposed get get rain tonight and I will not be able to get back into the yards for at least 3-4 days after a rain. I fed them last week and they devored that feeding in under 7 days.
it sure is nice when things go right in beekeeping!:)
My best hives are from the Russian breeder stock.

Ernie
