Does anyone have any unique looking hives. Something that uses the standard frames and such but is different looking. Perhaps looks like a house or ???

Just looking for something to make to look kind of neat.

At the 2007 summer meeting of the NC Beekeepers Association someone had a hive that was built to look like a church. It was very unique and interesting and complete with a steeple and an entrance with columns and steps. I am not sure who built it, so this may not be of much help to you except to give you an idea of what can be built. Perhaps someone who attended may read this and have more information.

That was an interesting "city". Like you I don't know how it would work around kids. It does give interesting ideas though for design. Thanks!

Bill Thering of Pikeville built the church hive. He's currenty building "Honeyville" with a church, mercantile, feed & seed store and some other hive designs. They are regular hive with different facades. i suppose you could make a model parthenon if you wanted.
