I've decided to try regressing a couple packages this spring to small cell. At the best, I'll achieve some varroa control - and there really isn't a downside. Im going to have to buy new frames/foundation anyway.

I'm wondering if anyone has had luck directly regressing package bees on Mann Lake PF100's? I've heard decent things about the foundation and the size being around 4.95 - just wondering if the package bees will draw it decently the first time around or if I'll need to do a couple rounds of regression to get everything drawn properly?

Sorry, TWG,
I haven't heard of it (I buy locally) so I haven't used it. If it is foundation to be drawn, I'm sure they'll need to go through some intermediate steps before being able to draw it correctly.

Waya

what he's talking about is all plastic frames/foundation that are SC
it seems like bees would have a hard time reworking it but I don't have enough experience to say
I'd go for it
A PF-120 costs less than a sheet of SC wax

I put a bunch of packages on PF120s last spring and they drew it fine the first try. That doesn't mean yours will, but they might. It's possible my packages came from Pierco or even PF100s. :) I don't know what they were raised on, I only know they drew the PF120's fine.
