Welcome Nate, it’s good to see young folks getting interested in beekeeping. Living close to Brush Mountain Bee farm should be handy, I have always been happy with their product and service. Hope the Bee fever grips you tightly.

Welcome Nate,
You've found a good site to help you get started. I've found the folks here to be extremely helpful and usually with good advice.

welcome aboard Nate you have found the best resource you could possibly have. we need to give you the disclaimer warning up front: WARNING bee keeping is an addiction without a cure. you may hope to start with 2 hives but I bet you end up with a lot more than you ever intended on having:D

well nate that would be your first mistake. you should just go ahead and go for three (the good, the bad, the ugly).

start slowly and enjoy... and yes beekeeping is a bit addictive.

Howdy Nate! Welcome and congratulations on starting early enough to be ready in spring, you've avoided the first potential mistake right there.

Welcome Nate,
As one of the others said, you will start out with 2 but you will get more. This is my first full year at it myself. I started out with 3 and now have 9. It is a great and educational hobby, if you can call it that. It is full of ups and downs. So, with that said, dont be afraid to ask any questions. No matter how off the wall that you think they will be. There is alot of experiance here and that is priceless. I have been reading the posts here for awile and have learned alot. With that said good luck and have a Happy Holiday!
