I keep seeing references to "White Wax Flow" in many of the posts. This seems to be a fairly significant mile post to spring buildup. Would somebody please expound on this a little:confused:. Do bees have a "Dark Wax Flow" or is this simply new wax?

white wax is new wax, (this years) that hasn't been walked over a lot by the bees. It's kinda like when you come in the house with dirt/mud on your shoes....it leaves a little mess. The bees will darken wax with constant travel over it. If you see white wax then it is fairly new... it hasn't seen that much traffic over it

Wax darkens not only with travel stains but also with rearing brood.

White wax happens when there is some kind of food source coming it (carbs--sugars). This can happen in spring time when they is a natural flow or by feeding them a light syrup.
