BT is supposedly very effective in treating and killing wax moth larvae and preventing it. Is there a chance it poses some risk to bee larvae and could actually contaminate the comb in some way? Thanx.

Hi, we have used Bt for quite some time and have not found any evidence of damages. This item has been discussed quite a bit and I have never found anything bad about it.

Bt aizawai's action is very specific. Its toxicity depends on recognizing receptors in the insect that ingests it. Moth larvae have these receptors for Bta, while bee larvae do not. Damage to the gut is caused by the toxins that occur upon binding to the receptor.

No need to worry about comb contamination.

ditto.

I've used it for two seasons now and no problems with wax moths, no problems with sick bees.
