to feed or not to feed

I got a hive about a 3 weeks back, and was wondering should I feed them 1 to 1 suger and water? or leave them to do there thing, one other thing do they store the suger water and turn that into honey? or is it just suger water?
i am a newbee and this is my first ever hive.

I would say that you should probably feed this time of year and a new hive.
Sugar water stays sugar water. The bees store it for winter and use it up by spring. Honey only comes from nectar that is gathered from plants.
