It's a little hard to see the details in your picture, but I'm going to say it's an Assassin Bug.

Sort of looks like assasin, but not quite. I have forwarded the photo to the entomologist at NCSU for positive ID, I'll let you know if it is assasin or something else. Thanks for the link. The bug watched me closely as I approached, was very wary of the camera, and dropped the bee and ran under the edge of the outer cover after the camera flash went off. I imagine he is getting a bee for dinner nightly.

Entomologist thinks may be a damsel bug, but does not rule out assasin. Thanks all.
