Dragging Drones Out

I was by one of my hives yesterday and in about 5 minutes time, I saw the girls drag 2 drones out and put them on the ground. I saw this last year but cold weather was approaching. Do they kick the men out in times of a dearth also, or do I have another problem?

Yes, they will kick them out when hive resources either get low, or quit coming in.:) When they are facing tough times they will even clean out drone brood, capped or not:).
