My NWC hive got overrun with wax moth larva and i had to put the hive into a five frame nuc and salvage what i could. This mornin i went out and checked on it and found the hive being overrun. I assumed it is robbing, but i closed it up, and all the bees began bearding on the nuc, is this robbing or do i have a swarm coming to take over, the nuc was very weak.

Could be AHB trying to usurp?

It was robbing, found the marked queen dead.

Did the bees stay, or are they all gone? If they were robbers, surely they killed most all of the workers too. Once the suns goes down, it should be like a ghost town in there.

If there are still a lot of bees, then it could well be an AHB usurp situation.

Oh well, sorry to hear it. You'll just have to clean up the equipment and get it ready to use again.
