Well it finally rained here today so I decided to make something. Several days earlier I had been to the apiary to do the sugar dusting (that time of year). I had my plastic bottle loaded and ready, but I got through two hives and my bottle developed a crack and that was the end of that. I had to stop the job tired hands and frustrated.I've gotten good results from sugar dusting and have read on this site that you get better results when the powdered sugar is properly aerated. So I came up with this contraption. I tried it today in the yard and it sends out the sugar in a fine dust (what I'm looking for). I'm going to give my Verroa blaster a try tomorrow on a few of my hives at home to see how it works. The design is simple and I'm sure can be improved upon. I was wondering if anyone on here has something similar that they use. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks Madison...

Cool looking contraption.
Now how did you set the pressure from the air tank? Mine will hold 125 psi and think that might be a little to high for spraying sugar onto hives.

I tried the blaster today and it worked like a charm. I keep 80-100#'s of air in the tank and I regulate it with the handle on the sprayer. One thing I changed was slightly turning the spout down 20-30 degree angle so I can keep the blaster level and have it fog the hive. I'm also using less sugar and I believe it is more effective. I'm going to check my drops over the next couple of days and hit them again. Madison....

Thats cool.

Call the patent office! No, just kidding, patents are overrated.
