Do those carriers work good or is there something better?

They work well if you have a helper and don't get in a hurry. Brushy Mt. used to sell a wheelbarrow-type mover that clamped around the sides of the hive. I use straps to hold my hive together and if I can't get help for heavier or larger hives, I use a small crane I built that mounts in the receiver hitch of my pickup. I roll the hives on a hand cart. I have a Bobcat that I will use if I evr aplletize my hives.

Dr. C.C. Miller used to use a rope or cloth band that he would loop behind his neck and carry the hive with the rope slung under the handhold cleat on the front side of the hive an dthe back of thehive against his torso.

The ones that I have that are designed for two people do work good. I just rarely have anyone helping so I ratchet the hive together and use the straps to lift with. I would like to get one of the ones from mann lake move hives between pallets. Now that I think of it I just would be happier with a swinger. haha.
