For those beekeepers around the Midwest where I am, what kind of "configuration" for entrances/exits do you find is good for your colonies at this time of year? I have 3 deep and put my medium honey supers on top now with the bottom entrance open. Do you have any other entrances besides exclusivly a top entrance? For those that use mediums exclusively do you provide "other" E/E's [entrance/exits.? Do you provide an entrance between top and bottom or just a bottom and an entrance near the top? Like an Imrie shim? I have noticed that my 5-frame nuc has made a lot of bridge comb to the bottom board; smart bees I think!!. In coming bees with nectar or pollen do not always want to crawl up the inside of the front of the hive and transfer their load.
