Burst into the hive today after a week off. Well not really just wen to check on them and see about the sugar water and how they were fairing on the new med super I put on a while back.

The first outside frame on the top med (I'm using nothing but med supers on this hive, brood body and all). not many bees not much comb drawn. 2nd frame to the 5 frame 3/4 drawn and this is what it looked like. Of course only one had the queen.. :D

I was really surprised to find the queen! but glad to see she was busy. After I found her, I took of the top med super put it aside, and pulled out one frame from the middle of the bottom super. Lots of capped brood, some emerging, and the rest of the empty comb had eggs in it!

this rocks!

Won't be long and I'll put on my THIRD med super! this is exciting watching the stack get bigger outside and smaller in the house. (where I have all my new equipment stacked waiting for use)

Awww!! Nice photos blammer! Yup! you were "surprised" to find the queen. I'll bet you weren't watching for her. Sorry! but I am going to have to take some photos of my own like yours for my screen saver.

That's the best way to find your queen. If you don't look for her you'll spot her right off! It's never failed me! Seriously, it's the easiest and fastest way to find a queen.

Nice pictures! I like the color of your bees/queen. Interesting that one bee on top of the frame over the honey part is jet black! cool!
Thanks for sharing..
