Hello.

First off, I want to apologize because I'm not sure what forum this should go in. If a moderator feels the need to move it, please do.

Secondly, I know I can contact the Central Maryland Beekeepers Association with my following request, but after lurking here a while, I've become fond of the community here and wanted to check this first.

I live near Baltimore, Maryland, and I am looking into getting into beekeeping next spring (well, this winter to get the hives and such). Before I just jump in next year, I want to get some hands-on experience with honey bees, get some answers to any questions that may pop up, and get some contacts for local suppliers.

Is there anybody in the Central Maryland (or maybe even southern Pennsylvania) area willing to take on an apprentice? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

--Jack

Jack,
Feel free to contact me if you would like to visit for an afternoon and visit some yards. I live up 83 from baltimore just beyond York. My main farm and yards are in Dillsburg which would be up route 15 beyond Gettysburg. So it would not be that far.

Also pull up the calendar at the top of this page. Click on July 28th. Thats the picnic I throw with some other beekeepers. We have beekeepers from all over the area, and would be a great place for you to rub some elbows and make local contacts.
