How often should you fog with FGMO and thymol. I was told by one person to fog once every five days for four times.

I never used thymol. When I was fogging I did it either once a week or once every two weeks depending on how busy I was and how far I had to drive (the outyard was less than the backyard).

I fog weekly with FGMO/Thymol for 5 seconds on each hive as per Dr. Rodregaz.

Clint I would have thought after a few weeks of fogging with thymol that the mite population would be low enough that the treatment could be stopped for a few weeks.Does the thymol kill most of the mites that are attached to the bees?

I have neighbors that do not treat or fog at all. They kill all of their bees every year and start their hives every spring with new 5 pound packages. They have 25 hives that they do this with. Their hives seem to have more mites as the year progresses and my bees visit these hives and bring back mites. I have been trying to show him the mite problems in his hives using a drop board and also the sugar roll but he thinks he doesn't need to control the mites because he starts out with new bees each year.
Yes the Thymol is a quick kill for the Varroa mites.

Clint I wonder why you are still fogging your colonies every week with Thymol? There are Thymol strips available and they work much easier and better. This would kill the incoming mites before they enter the cells.

Where would we get these strips in Germany. I use the Holterman catalogue and did not see this product.

You can find the strips on the website from Klaus Nowottnick. I ordered and paid them here and the parcel came direct from a manufacturer in Kanada.
Go on the Internet and search for Thymol strips or Thymomite strips.
