View Full Version : Items for sale?

I was wondering if there would be enough interest from members to have some items available for sale that would display either a beesource.com logo or a combination of logo and phrase? Shirts, hats, the ever abundant mug. It would be another way to support the site.

I would like BIG yellow "beesource" button to wear to meetings.

A bumper sicker w/ a slogan (Bee buzzzz, Beekeepers are BEST, ect.) might create a few "hits" from non-keepers.

The above could be "sold" or given as "rewards".

Sure Barry. Good idea. A Cyber Catolog to save on printing expense? Orders on line through Paypal?

Does Beesource have a logo? I dabble in the logo design business, and probably others do as well.

And thank you sir for answering my message. Shirts, coffee cups, jackets, would all be great and if you wanted to be real fancy, we need a physical binder with plastic sheets inside that could be used as a record pad in a beeyard, something that would allow the sheets to be removed and filed and that would take a waterproof pen of some kind. That might just save the lives of a few push pins and can lids doting a beeyard or two.

But anything with "Beesource" on it i would wear, wave or hang on the review mirror. Don't forget the bumberstickers...

I would love to have some funny t-shirts and bumper stickers to chose from. Many years ago my daughter and wife bought me this great t-shirt. It was bright yellow and had "BEEKEEPER" in large letters, under that in slightly smaller letters it said something to the effect of "If you see me running you should seriously consider running also." Now that I think of it, that's kind of a metaphor for our current situation.

At any rate I think it's a great idea as I always enjoy win-win situations. We get some good stuff and you get funding to keep up your great work.

"Beekeeper-
If you see me running you should seriously consider running also."
- I really like that one and would buy a shirt that says that!
I followed a similar thread a couple years ago about this. Some of them I kept in a Word file-

"Honey Made Me What I Am Today"
"What the World Needs Now is Honey Sweet Honey"
"WWJD? Eat Comb Honey!"
"Underdog's Pill Had Honey Centers"
"My Honey Makes Me Happy"
"Like to Eat? Thank the Honeybees. One in four bites you take comes from honeybee-pollinated foods."

There hasn't been one, but currently we are designing one.

Navajo potters and silversmiths and carvers stop by my office with some really nice stuff. A guy I've bought pottery from was in town and came by. I asked him if he could make a couple of pieces with the Beesource.com logo that was on the old site (the one with the leaves) He looked at it and did some sketching in my office and said "Sure. I'll put some bees around it too." I was going to (will?) send one to Barry and others. That was several months ago. Somewhere out on the rez is a really nice pot or two, either finished or about to be started or something. I have no doubt it will show up some day.

In the meantime, a nice coffee cup will do nicely.

(And stop grinning, Michael.)

I like to wear bee stuff, but there seems to be a real shortage of good stuff. Every year Betterbee makes a special t-shirt and I buy it.

I'd like Beesource T's, but it needs more on it than just the logo.

Navajo potters and silversmiths and carvers ...

Ooh, I would love to see some nice bee pottery. Not with a logo, but just a bee theme. Could you post a photo if they come back with anything?

I'll put one up when I get a pot. Here's one I got a while back. The ones he's making are much smaller, modeled after a simple honey pot.

My mother and I have an embroidery buisness. We also do heat pressing and screen printing (and shes a seamstress). We've done work for a major hockey team, many school projects, fire companys, baseball teams, dance studio, etc (we've done shirts for one of our beesource moderators). No order is too small or too large - unlike a lot of companies they will only take certain minimum orders (like 200 or 500 count). She will also do fund raisers.
Suggestions:
hats, visors, dew rags, lanyard keychains (the long ones that go around your neck), shirts, "diamond" studed designs, shorts, blankets, towels, the list is endless.

My Uncle does engraving by way of lazer (years ago he worked for Drapers Super Bee too). I do believe he can engrave any image on almost any item.
Suggestions:
Glassware, wood, stone, plastic. He's done trophies for our local college, logos on company products, photos on stone, again endless possiblities.

So Barry if you decide to go ahead with it we would greatly appreciate yours and everyone elses business.

Well, things never happen as fast as I'd like them to, but progress is being made on the design of an official beesource logo and the website is in redesign at the same time. Once the logo gets finalized, I will get a hand on all the options to get products available.

Barry

Nudging this back to the top... what is the status of the items for sale? When can we see the logo?

I was missing having a beekeeper shirt on my vacation last week.

Something easy to spot at a bee meeting would be nice.

Something easy to move to other garments. A lapel pin or a badge or button would make it easy.
A Beesource hat would be nice.

My girlfriend makes honey pots and other ceramic wares, she is a ceramics art teacher. We set up and sell her ceramics and my honey at craft fairs. If you ever get that logo decided upon and you have an idea of the cut for Beesource, we could make honey pots, mugs and the like available for our members.

An update on this thread.

I've met with my local shirt guy who does heat transfers and embroidery. We messed around today embroidering the logo on shirt material and finally got it right. Also had a cap embroidered that turned out really nice. I'll be getting him the artwork to have the transfer template made for doing T-shirts.

The logo is done and I've got a good local supplier to work with for these items. I plan to start out simple and basic and see how it goes from there. I also am going to favor quality products over the cheap stuff.

What I'd like to get is feedback on what selected items you would consider buying for yourself if offered. I will create a poll with various options for you to vote for. From this, I will make my first order. I want to get some stuff in your hands to get feedback before it gets rolling to far. Thanks for your patience as I try to get this right from the start.
