sting barb left in skin???

hi guys,

got stung a month ago on my finger tips, no more swelling but there seems to be part of the sting left behind. it bothers me coz sometimes it hurts when i use my finger to grab on to things like... heavy like 5 lbs honey frames.

i cant seem to get it out, i tried to nip my skin as far as i could without bleeding it w/o any luck.

anyone tried this before? will this just dissolve in my flesh over time?

Time to get out the tweezers. If it's really painful have it professionally removed.

Rub a drop of tooth ache remedy on it to numb it a bit and cut away...It has to come out, one way or the other. I mashed a finger black last week. Had to cut the skin loose from the nail to relieve pressure. No fun at the time, but the relief is great now.

My wife is excellent at getting stuff out of my skin. She sits there with a needle, pins, tweezers etc, and slowly works on it. Painful at the time, but much better than leaving it in. A week ago I got a splinter under my finger nail and about 1cm deep. The end broke off so we could not just pull it out. Removal was painful. Especially when she had finally drawn it out a little with a pin so she could grab it with the tweezers. I felt every single mm as it came out..

Sounds like the perfect opportunity to drink some medicinal scotch!!!!!!! to numb the pain.....oh the pain!!!!!!!!!

sterilize a needle with a match and start digging

Get some Bag Balm put a dab and cover it with a band-aid before going to bed. The stuff seems to draw out slivers. My wife has a piece of glass in her hand and this was suggested by our doctor.

try black salve and a band aid over night. we call it icky salve it draws out most slivers.

There is also a product called mediplast. People use it to get rid of plantars warts, but also to get splinters out. It has a small amount of acid and kills the skin slowly so you can expose the splinter or barb in this case. If you can't find that you could try over the counter wart remover. They all do the same thing. Hope this helps. Not the most "natural" way, but it sounds better than digging into your finger!

Probably a stinger... I get them all the time thru my gloves.... Never feel a sting but the stinger barbs work their way thru the leather it seems and I'll notice pain grabbing things etc...

I usually use a needle and get them out.

tried the needle and started digging... im not quite sure i got it coz it hurts a bit... cant tell anymore if its the stinger or from the needles hehe. have to let this heal a bit. i think the more i use my fingers, the more it gets deeper.
