I just put in a new bee hive in my back yard last friday and they have been making a mess of the deck and the siding on the house. THey are leaving pollen drops everywhere on the deck and on the siding of the house and it is very hard to get off, I still cant get it off completly on the side of the house, any reason why they are doing this, i am thinking they were cleaning out the hive, but not sure, any suggestions?

might want to read up on nosema. Can cause excessive pooping i think.
Our neighbor got little bee poop dots on his picture window. He was easily 100 yards from the hive, but was located almost due east & was clearly in the bee line. I washed his windows & moved the hive.
Painting over your siding will be easier than getting dried bee poop off.
Might try reorienting the hive or moving it to a sunnier location. post pics & that might help folks help u! peas.

Yeah I will try to move the hive, right now it is pointing east and the bees always run into the house, it must be in their way, so I will try moving the hive so it points away from the house and see what happens.

Two words - "power washer".
Another two words - "rental yard".

Thank God for Power Washers....I would be lost without one, the time it saves is incredible!

Jim: Yes... an out yard is very nice.
I hear a power washer is great to cull plastic frames.

No I meant get the power washer from a rental yard.
Never buy something like that if you can rent it when
you need it. Let someone else maintain and store it
for you.
