i installed a package on monday(4/9) and fogged them to get rid of any mites that may have hitched a ride into my bee yard. I prolly shoulda taken the queen cage out 1st, but i didn't. my own stupidity. today i checked and she's dead. so they've been queenless for at least 3 days now. If i put in a frame from another hive that has eggs, will they raise a queen? What about if i put in a frame of capped brood that has a capped supercedure queen cell on it, will that work? i really dont want to order another queen if i don't absolutely have to, my budget is getting slim.

that's what i already did. what i didnt mention in the 1st post is that my stupidity was compounded by a factor of 2. 2 packages, both fogged, both (1 italian & 1 russian) queens dead. i happened to have a supercedure cell so i used that on one, and put a frame that had eggs in the other. i was worried that i needed to buy new queens since they arent established colonies. i really appreciate the fast responce. i luv this place !

Did the bees survive? If it's hot enough to kill the queens, I worry about the rest of them...

With what and how did you fog?

I have some new packages installed two days ago. I plan to do an OA treatment in about 1 week - queen should be out of cage and laying by then but intent is to just beat capped brood timing. I expect to start my FGO fogging a week or so after that.

i had brought it up on another thread. it was a user error. i didnt let the fogger heat up enough before using it.
