What diseases and pest are found in central Alabama? I am about 2weeks from my first bees, has this ccd thing been reported here.

I haven't heard reports of CCD in Alabama thus far. We do have the usual pests such as Varroa and Tracheal mites, Small Hive Beetles and wax moths.
Sometimes cases of American Foulbrood are found also. Other pests include skunks, coons and wild hogs in some areas. Chalkbrood can be a problem during wet, cool conditions.
