I can't seem to get the quote function to work unless I respond to something at the very end of a single giant quote. Some folks seem able to have their replies interspersed within a maeesage and there are multiple blue blocks of quoted material. How do I do that?

That's how the system's quote function works.

Quite easily. Simply copy the code {QUOTE} {/QUOTE} and insert between them any text you want. Replace the {} with [] though. So you can slice and dice away!

Highlight what you want to make into a quote and click that little icon fourth from the right that looks like a little note. That'll put quote and end quote commands at either end of the highlighted text. Much easier than doing it by hand!

Ann - I can't seem to get it to do that. I can use Barry's method, but when I hit the letter shapped quote button, it quotes the whole thing. Still have insert the other {quote}{/quote} to plit up the text.

KeithKeith, once you've got the reply to want to reply to in the reply box (how's that for a contorted run-on sentence? :)), then highlight what you want to quote and click that little quote box in the icon bar.

I've just thought of something. In your User CP, Edit Options, down at the bottom under Miscellaneous Options, are you using the Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing? If you're not, it may not be available to you.
