After reading the thread on standard bar length (http://www.beesource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=207592), I thought we should have a place to put your TBH's vital statistics. I was hoping to put this all in a poll, but it looks like the poll options are pretty limited. I'll put the questions here and you can post you info.
1. Straight or sloped sides? If sloped, what angle (degrees off vertical)?
2. What length of top-bars? (19" like a Langstroth?)
3. What is the width of your top-bars? 1 1/4 and 1 1/2? All 1 3/8?
4. How long is the interior of the hive? (and how many top-bars is that?)
5. How deep are your combs (height from top-bar to bottom of hive)?
6. What is the overall interior volume?
Since I have been planning a top-bar hive, I am always interested in the design choices everyone else made. The thing I keep switching back and forth about is the top-bar length vs. volume. If I keep all the other factors the same, it is between 19" top-bars (and a volume of 80 liters) or 21" (and a volume of 96 liters). I can't seem to decide between having the bars fit in a Lang or having a larger volume.
