Dan here, My partner and I are remodeling contractors and also hobbiest beekeeper in Racine County. We can remove swarms from low bushes, trees, and fences, etc, free of charge. We have also had success in removing a hive from inside the wall of a barn, and established hives hanging from tree branches. We live in Madison and try to always keep an empty bee box ready to go during swarm season.

Just a note to you Karl and Ariela, catching swarms for your direct nieghbors free of charge is a good thing. Especially since that swarm may have came from your yard. We also do this. But we have a charge for swarms farther than like 3 - 4 miles away like $25 to $35. This is to take care of mostly gas expences and the fact that we drop what we are doing to go help with the problem. People with a swarm of bees really want them gone. We and you do get the bees, which is great, but you don't know if that, when you get them home, they won't just take off and you did that work for nothing. Or the fact that a swarm is building up fresh and new, and for the most part not net you honey this year. So now you have to rely on the colony to make the winter for next year, and I am sure you know the % of that happening. So a small charge like this is acceptable both for you and the customer with the bees. Thanks Dan.
