I've traded several honeys now with the West Coast but have yet to have any "heartland" honey exchanges. I love all of the different honey colors, flavors, consistencies!
Anyone in the middle of the country interested in trading for honey from Maine?

I have "wildflower" (straight up Maine Sunshine) and I have "Ruby Red" which is red like a glass of wine with a mildly fruity flavor.

I have some cotton alfalfa honey I also have some creamed cotton honey that is really sweet and light I would be interested in a trade for the ruby red if you would like to trade

Hello Maine_Beekeeper,
I've got some Canadian Canola honey or darker sunflower that I wouldn't mind trading with some of your "Ruby Red"

Maybe 1 or 2 Kg ???

Let me Know

As this was the 1st year with bees we don't have any honey to trade, but would trade a pint of sorghum made in NE Kansas for a pound of your Ruby Red. I know the rules say to trade the same size (and only honey) but as honey is sold by weight and sorghum by volume this would be easiest.

Jethro -
Absolutely! Being from Maine I've never tried sorghum. I'm excited to try it - sounds like it is made a lot like Maple Syrup!
I've sent you a PM.

I'm so relieved it made it through customs without problems. And thrilled you like it.
As I said in PM, your honey is wonderful as well!
Thank you!

I got the honey it has a really nice flavor, unlike anything I have tried. Hope you enjoy the sorghum as much as I am enjoying the honey. Thanks
Jethro

Hi Jethro-
Glad you liked the honey.
WOW sourghum is something different (and great!)
My husband had a taste and said "that would make a wicked good cookie."
I'm planning on using my grandmother's famous molasses cookie recipe and substituting the sourghum. I think I'll do it for the family Christmas dinner - something special for us.
Thanks for the chance to try something so dilligently homemade that isn't available around here.
Thanks again and take care,
-Erin
