Hello all ,
I am totaly new to beekeeping and I plan to start this coming season . I do have a question that some of you who are more experianced may have a idea about . I was looking at a ice cooler the other day ( the Igloo type for keeping sodas etc ) , the long type and I was wondering , do you think this would be a good place for a TBH . It is a little over a fott deep and about 3.5 feet long . I live in Texas if that would make any diffeance .

hehe,
the creativity of beekeepers is never ending smile.gif

hello jello7654,
welcome aboard
that not a bad idea
maybe a little expensive unless you have one laying around
you kind of need some kind of lip for the topbars to rest on but that shouldn't be to hard to do
it's often said bees don't care for plastic foundation, maybe using a plastic cooler would help keep them from attaching the combs to the sides

If I was just starting I'd save some of the experiments for the second or third year...

It might work fine. It might not. Or it might just need a little tweaking here and there to make it work.

Sasha-thank you for sharing, I am impressed! Keep up the good work. I do not know what a Taranov board is.
