Hi all,
so I was checking on my hive this Sunday, after being remiss in checking them for a while. All seemed fine except that I found a new queen in addition to my original one?!
What should I do??
Thanks!!

Hi beebee,
Let em bee :>)
Two queens are alot more common in beehives than most beekeepers think. The bees will take care of the situation.
Most multiple queen hives are never noticed by a beekeeper. And they behave normally. But I've once had a hive that had at least three queens in it. They could sometimes all be found laying on the same side of a comb. The hive was floundering, but I left it alone to see what would happen. The hive countinued to flounder, with at least three queens, all the rest of the summer.
So, if your tbh is behaving normally. Two queens are OK.
Regards

Whew, thanks! What a relief.
I was first so excited to know that I could even spot an unmarked queen, but then I was worried I had a major problem.
Glad to hear it's ok.
Thanks for your speedy response.

One book I read said that this is the true supersede and that the old queen and young queen lay alongside each other until the hive decides enough is enough and gets rid of the old queen.
