Greetings.
I just took a super of honey off my Russians, and was very surprised how dark it was. Combs were pretty and white, but the honey very amber.
I tasted a piece of comb, as did my daughter, and it was VERY sweet, no bite or sourwood-like burn...just real sweet, and real thick, or seems so at least.
My daughter suggested it tasted familiar, but not like the light store-honey we have gotten used to lately...
Then it hit her: rasins. It hints of the dried grape.
I had suspected clover, it had been a heavy clover year this year, this is darker than any clover I have had before.
Does anybody know what this is?!
HELP!

Tulip poplar...it bloomed profusely in my area and I got the same thing.
