Hi Guys,

I've found some very interesting reading concerning broodnest structure in tbhs. And it validates one of my observations that queens prefer to lay in new comb rather than the old, dark stuff. A study was conducted in the past concerning this, but this beekeeping myth continues to be repeated in the US.

Check Out:

Check out the rest of the site as well. It's a interesting read. I don't know much about the organization, but I think sharing beekeeping skills is a great way to improve humanity. Anyone see any opportunities here?

Regards
Dennis

Here's some research by
ms. Jennifer Berry, University of Georgia
Extension
that makes a similar observation, in Langstrogh hives.
