Greetings,
I was given many shallow supers and knocked down frames. I rarely use shallows but couldn't say no to brand new free equipment? I want the bees to fill in the foundation themselves. I plan to put two horizontal wires also two vertical wires one third of the way each across the frame for stability. Then I thought to put a one inch strip of foundation wax at the top to get them started. Am I on the right track? What about the lemon grass to encourage wax building? I am a soap maker so I have lots of it, how much do you use? Thanks again for your help.

You will need something at the top for a guide. A wax strip, a wood strip, a triangular guide. They all work. The wood options are more permanant.

You won't need the lemon grass to get them to build wax. It's a nice swarm lure.
