I made my own BeeVac using a small shop vac that my wife bought at a garage sale for a few bucks. I cut a 3 hole in the bottom of the shop vac covered it with 1/8th hardware cloth. Then attached a lid from a five gallon bucket to the bottom of the shop vac. I relocated the suction hose to the five gallon bucket and attached a piece of sheet metal to the opening of the shop vac where the suction hose was. I use this to regulate the suction pressure. Inside the five gallon bucket I glued a piece of foam to protect the bees form slamming into the walls of the bucket. After you suck a swarm into the bottom bucket you just shake them down and remove the shop vac and replace it with a regular lid with a screen vent and take it home. The cost of the whole project was less than ten dollars.
