I am looking at the 275 gallon poly cube containers with the cage and steel pallet.

Anyone use them for honey and syrup?

For bottling?

How do they hold up??

I found a source for only $75 each!! They held milk line cleaner solution so they are definately food grade.

That's one hell of a deal!! If I had the farm and # of hives I REALLY want, I'd sure pursue this.
I think kelly sells these for a couple hundred bucks. Buy em and resell!!

LOL........ If I had a consistant source I would.

Just picked up 2 and have "dibs" on any more the guy can get.

I love the steel pallet.

Now if I can just find a HFCS vendor that will sell 275 gal quantities.

I have access to a bunch of them, right down the road. I'll check the price if anyone is interested. Shipping would probably be expensive.

I am interested. I'd love to know the cost if it's no trouble.

Bruce,
75 is a fair price especially for the metal pallet. I had four I use for fructose only. We only put 200 gallons in if picking up with a swinger forklift. I fill full when feeding off the one ton. My one ton (extra heavy duty) will carry two totes with 275 gallons each without problem.
A friend tried to fill a tote on his half ton flatbed and the flatbed hit the tires and they had to pump some out before he could move his truck.
They can be dangerous when hauling half full in turns except for one tons.
Good luck with the totes.

Bob..... I hear you on the 1/2 full ones.

I do right of way herbicide spraying in the summer for a local county here. We have a 275 gallon tank on a 1 ton. Can get wild without baffles in the tank.

FordGuy...... If there are any large dairies near you, give them a call.

Ask if they get their milk line cleaner in totes and if you could have or buy them. Bet you'll score without having to deal with $$$ shipping.

There must be some large dairies in SC.

Good Luck

Are these direct from the dairy iddee??

Great price!! And they have a pretty good valve on them to boot. The filling cover is 6 or 8 inches across.

If you have a fork lift that will handle 3000# they are the cats meow it would seem.

They are from different sources and contained different products. Most of them had detergent, others cooking oils, ETC. Yes, same valve, same opening on top. You have to pick and choose, some are food grade, some not.
