Doesn't Lloyd Spears sell Sundance Pollen Traps? I don't think that he sells the plans, does he?

Check his contact info out on the profile list.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has used BOTH the Sundance I and Sundance II traps and can compare and contrast.

Thanx.

Valvre I notice you are from Bulgaria. I am certain you are not among those who would steal trade secrets and copyrights and then sell the products to others.

We have never had any objection to beekeepers buying a Sundance trap and then taking it apart so they could figure out how it was made so they could make more for their own personal use. I have always said that a beekeeper making their own would require 40 hours to make the first trap, perhaps 20 hours for the second and after five traps should be able to make a further five in another 20 hours.

A beekeeper told me just last week that he took one to a friend who is a skilled woodworker and the woodworker said the 40 hours for the first was about right.

A dealer in France has the traps in inventory. Contact Gabriel Ickowicz at meil@ickowicz.com. It will be much less expensive to get a trap from them than to have one shipped from the US.

Good luck,

Ishi

I use the traps from Stauffer’s Beehives in Pa. that look like a Sundance I (bottom trap). I just put on 2 Sundance II this week. There was no bee flight for 3 days but some are starting to use the top entrance now. I had to make new hive covers with a 3/8 “ lip the migratory cover came down over the opening of the trap. Once they get used to the top entrance I will go back to the migratory cover

I think I'd get them used to the top entrance before you put the trap on. In fact, I'd open the top entrance for a few days before I closed off the bottom and close off the bottom a few days before I put on the pollen trap.
