View Full Version : Leg and sleeve length in bee suits
My husband is 6'4" with a 34" inseam. We're looking at the bee suits in the Brushy Mountain catalog and can't decide on size. He's an XXL on top, but frequently unless there's a Tall designation there, sleeves are too short, body is too short and pants are definitely too short. Anyone with any experience with the Beemaster Suit, or alternatively The Inspector Jacket as offered by Brushy? TIA! smile.gif

Always go bigger rather than smaller. I believe www.beeworks.com (http://www.beeworks.com) will custom make them.

Bigger is better. Put a call into any of the suppliers and they will likely give you lengths of their stock.
Actually I think I found a good source. BeeCare (http://www.beecare.com/indexDynFrames.htm?http://www.beecare.com/Navigation/SideNavFrame.htm&0) lists inseams, etc. so we ended up ordering a XXL that has an inseam of 33+". Hopefully the body is as ample as the leg length. Thanx all for the help.

You could also just go with a pollinator type jacket. They fit snug around the waist and he can wear his jeans.

Ann--at six foot four he is a big un, my youngest son that mostly helps me is six foot seven and size eighteen shoes so I know how hard it is to get a proper fitting bee suit.
Like already suggested I would buy a pollinator jacket.

2 pair of socks will take care of the little ankle biters.

Not putting boxes on the ground helps with the ankle biters, as well as not standing in front of the entrance smile.gif
My hives are all 6" to 12" off the ground so I don't have the problem standing in front of the hives that some people do, but I used to put supers on the ground, or stand them on edge leaning against the hive, and the bees of course crawled around on the ground and the first thing they found was my ankles... Now I carry a small stool around and put the hive top on that, and the supers on the top.
