Awhile back these guys were advertizing boxes in the "For Sale" section.
Anyone get any??? If so how was the quality??
Thanks
I just ordered 60 deep and 60 shallow I will know in about 3 weeks. It seems that each order is a costume order he ask me how many hand holds I wanted and how far from the top to cut them. I went for one on each side and 1 1/2" from the top. 5/8 rabbit but will cut 3/4 if you want. He did nor say that there was an extra charge for that or a minimun order on special cuts.

These guys will make you almost anything you need and its all well made.
They are about an hour away from where i live, very handy.
Picked up 60 deep and 60 shallow yesterday. I have only had time to try the box joint fit on the shallows and out 2 of the deeps together. The shallows fit very well you can push them together with your hands, the deeps fit tight but than again it has rained for 3 weeks so they have drawn moisture and should be ok when it dries out. Dave gave me a tour of the place and from the quality of wood that is available today the boxes good quality. They are not afraid to cut out the knots to get good wood for their boxes.

200 deeps?? what happened to the 8 frame medium standardization?

Nope....... After long and painful self debate I opted to stick with 10 frame deeps for brood. This was made solely because of almond pollination.
Honey supers will be mediums.

I see. I followed the Almond discussion this year on Bee-L and that sounds like a good decision if the grading methods discussed are used on your hives.

There was also resale and buying existing coloines as well.
I did buy 56 story and 1/2 8 frame colonies that are in Cal now. I will be pulling brood for splits and utilizing them for local honey only in the future.

I admire your confidence to dive in head first! It has been interesting reading about your growing operation. Best of luck!

Conofidence?? More like despiration :D At 50 you kinda have to dive in ;) My curse is that I dive into just about everything. If your going to do it........ "Get er' Done"
Seriously, if I'd started even 10 years ago I would probably gone with just a couple colonies the first year. Grow to 10 the second, etc.
